Updates from Adi

I want to thank everyone for caring and calling to check on us.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to make any calls back since I need to help Guy and talk to so many doctors and specialist about his condition.

I am not sure what you know about Guy’s accident and I can’t say I know all the details yet. All I can say for now is that he fell from 25-30 feet.

He is now being at Intensive care to make sure he will be able to breath.

He will undergo a 10-12 hours (more or less) complicated head surgery, since his facial bones broke in so many places.

I will try to update the blog after the surgery and let you know how it went.

It has been a long long day and is seems like it started weeks ago.

I also need to give some attention to Shira our 2.5 years old daughter which misses him (and me) very much.

I will appreciate your comments and regards at the blog instead of calling for the time being, because I’m overloaded with everything, and can’t handle that too.
Guy can’t see people for the next week at least, but I know and he also told me a few times that he misses the company of you guys, and will love to hear all you have to say about him :-)

I promise you that I will read it to Guy whenever I can

Please pray for us.

Adi

Hi Guy,
First of course, good luck the surgery and quick recovery. When Adi told me that you might be bored, I wasn’t sure you can hold a book now, so I suggested that we, your friends will help by reading you books. But science fiction???? Who knows, maybe you will wake up from the surgery with a different taste in literature: Might make it easier for me. But I’ll be satisfied if you just wake up the same way you were before the accident.
Hope to see you soon, Holding my finger crossed praying and all the “gesheft”

Hi Guy
sitting here in Tel Aviv is quite frustrating since i cant see you or can't talk to you. now that i can write it's nice, but yet, writing in English is not the best way for me to express myself. we are all very worried here and in N.Y. and though i know you are hundeling this amazingly, it still hard for me to know that you are lying in a hospital bad, injured. i'm very happy that ima is over there with you, and though it sounds like you have many friends around you i think it's very important that she is there. yesterday my last semester started and it was hard to go to school. every new semester is hard for me but now i have more things on my mind. but the good thing is that my mean cold heart teacher who i dont like very much, was very nice to me because he heard about my brother, so thank you. and to Adi- i cant imagine what you must be going through,i wish i could do something to help you.i hear that you are very strong.I'm happy for guy that he has you. mybe you'll get a "Mordillo" book after all of this will end (ask guy for explanation and if he doesnt remember i"ll write the meaning of it next time). well Guy, i'll finish now. i hope you manage to read between the lines because this is what i really ment.
love, Ada.

Guy,

As the first of your reports from PayPal to leave a comment on your blog, I feel I have a special honor. As part of that honor, I think I'll go right ahead and say, on behalf of everyone else:

We miss you, get well, and don't worry about we underlings 'cause we're carrying on the spirit of GROM. :)

Hi Guy,

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to heal to a point where I can unleash my dumb elephant jokes upon you, and you can laugh at them. (Er, these are not jokes about dumb elephants--regrettably, these are simply dumb jokes about elephants. It's a Smith family tradition, you might say.) I continue to pray for a speedy recovery for you and your family.

Hi Adi,

How wonderful it is to have family near at times like this! Know also that you have a network of nearly maniacal Guy fans at PayPal that may be of service if you need things here and there. I am one of them.

Guy, your soul and body are strong and your family, friends and co-workers are so loving. And I hear those Stanford folks are miracle makers. You will be healthy soon - and I have a feeling that will be sooner than the best expectations. We miss and love you, man.

And Adi - hang in there - everything is gonna be okay very soon!

Hi Guy
Sorry about not being able to join Inbal on Saturday but someone had to sit with Natalie.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery, hope for your speedy recovery. My hope is that sooner than later you will be able to try kick my ass playing X-BOX FIFA2006 but I will give you a good fight.

Best of luck

to look back and laugh
על כל העניין הזה.

יישר כח,

חן דרורי

Guy,

Well, I must say I was scared shitless when Matthew called me Friday night and there was much less news than there is now. But now that the road sounds surmountable I have little doubt that you will work your way through this and resume life full on, probably faster than the doctors will expect! Not to trivialize the road ahead but... it is a great relief.

I love the story your brother wrote about your composure during your motorcycle accident and everything I've been hearing from people sounds like this has been quite similar. I'm sure this is scary but the way you handle it is inspirational, and I think we are all luckier to have you than we realize.

I wish I wasn't in Austin right now. I'm thinking of you and wish you all the best tomorrow. Will see you soon.

Love you man,
James

Adi,

What a tough time for you as well. I keep hearing how impressed people are by your strength and support during this -- Guy and Shira are lucky to have you!

Thinking of you too and wishing you all the best. Take good care of Guy for us :-)

Hi Guy and Adi,

I am so sorry about the accident. I hope that you will have a speedy recovery so that you can be with your friends and family in a more joyous setting again. I'm sure that your surgery tomorrow will go well since you are strong-willed and so the strength in you will help carry you throughout this trying time.

Adi, I haven't met you yet since I have only been at PayPal for a few months. But I can only imagine what you are going through and still trying to take care of Shira. (I have a 2.5 year old myself). Stay strong!

God Bless. Best wishes.
