The Surgery has finished....

Guy's doctor completed the surgery around 9:00-9:15 pm (Pacific Time) so it went a little longer than orginally planned.

Some of the reasons why his doctor extended surgery:
  • needed to spend extra time on Guy's jaw area
  • the eye sockets were damanged more severely and his doctor wanted to add extra plating and spend more time on the reconstruction.
Overall, the doctor is quite pleased with the outcome as he was able to achieve the major facial framework reconstruction and remains positive about Guy's full recovery. There may be a few nips and tucks needed in the future but they may be minor procedures that can be accomplished through outpatient surgery.

We will publish more information as it becomes available tomorrow.

Guy is officially on the road to recovery!!!!!!

Great news on the surgery!

Though I hear the real reason for the extended duration is that it's just so darn hard to look as good as Guy!

Guy, my brother, my hero.
Here's a tribute to the near heart- attack you gave me (Inspired by David Letterman's 10 most popular...):

He can’t zip line properly

Number 2:
He forgot to sign the liability waiver

Because George W. needed help with his English homework.

Guy, dear,

Now, you tell me who is the REAL leader here. It was absolutely you, when the theater group met tonight. By the way, when we talked about Comedia Del'Arte and Masks, you didn't have to take it that serious...:-)

How's your Wednesday evenings look like? We are moving our meetings and are waiting for your big come back!!! Hang on there!!!

Hi,
My name is Benny, and I am Guy's father. The idea of creating this blog has filled my heart with great joy as it was great to realize that my son is not alone. Of course, he still has his immediate family, his brave wife Adi, her family, Shira- the amazing child, my wife Michal, the brother Asaph (who has a rare gift of expressing his feelings) and Ada, the youngest- a sister who is here supporting the family in Israel. The thing is, being a father, you become proud not only of your kids' achievements but also of the company they keep, and the friends they are so lucky (and wise) to gather around them.
Guy has been successful since day one. In elementary school he has skipped the sixth grade. From then on, the only thing we heard from his teachers was how bored the kid became when attending classes. He would fall asleep during lectures causing one high school teacher to warn us that our kid suffers from a rare disease and must be attended to immediately by a specialist. The same teacher was stunned, at a later date, to realize that he used to read his homework correctly from a blank notebook. So, it was no surprise to us when he graduated with honors from the Navy Cadet school and rapidly climbed up the ranks to finally become a Major in the most respected Missile Ships section of the Israeli Navy.
His greatest achievement, of course, was getting married to Adi whom with great love and caring helped both of them to produce Shira.
That is not to say that our other two children are less talented. Asaph, 32, is residing in Manhattan and is now in the midst of writing his Ph.D. thesis in Clinical Psychology. He is about to marry his long time sweetheart, Ella, a successful photographer, this coming June. So, can you hear me, Guy? Hurry, and get well! Ada, 27, the youngest, is about to graduate from the most prestigious Design College in Israel. Her teachers predict she will have a great future.
So you see… we have a great family. God is probably watching us very closely. Otherwise, with all the sorrow we feel following Guy's unbelievable injuries, we are grateful that he came out alive and without injuring any of his vital organs.

see you soon. best of luck.
Papa

Well Guy, my sweet, after your dad and Asaph told about you, the only thing that is missing now is a nude baby photo of you, which I took while attending photography class at Parsons... but I will not do it to you... I think a better way to embarace you would be flying out to California and greet you in your home coming party wuth a big kiss...
I love you so much and I think about you all day every day. I admire your great wife and unbelievably brave mom. Always have.
Keep your sense of humur flowing and get well soon.
Noa :-)
P.S. Asaphy, you are funny! I miss you too, I wish you were all here with us, enough with this distance

Hi Guy,

My wife and I are praying for you and your family. We are relieved to hear of your recovery and prognosis.

By the way, thank you so much for your donation for my son's Autism service dog. In just 7 days, we raised over $13,000 for Autism Service Dogs of America.

Words cannot express our gratitude. All we can say is thank you on behalf of Jonah. We only wish that he could know your kindness. Maybe some day he will. He will definitely know the love of this dog.
